SRAL offers multiple-day fee-based classes taught by professional artists from the region and elsewhere. All classes are offered in conjunction with Green Valley Recreation, Inc. and will be held at the SRAL studio, 921 W. Rio Fuerte in the Santa Rita Springs social center. Kath Macaulay (www.pocketsketching.com), a Tucson artist who specializes in small formats and inexpensive materials to illustrate journals, will teach Pocket Sketching-Watercolor & Pen.

• Pocket Sketching: Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 16 – 18, 2012, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Cost: $195 if GVR member, $205 if not GVR member.

David Simons (www.davidsimonsfineart.com), a Tubac artist who exhibits in several Tubac galleries and teaches regularly in Tubac, will teach Oil Painting with the Painter's Eye (acrylic welcome too).

• Landscape/Seascape: Friday and Saturday, Mar. 16 – 17, 2012, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Cost: $140 if taking just this one, $130 if also taking class below ($10 more if not GVR member).
• Portrait and Figure: Friday and Saturday, Mar. 23 – 24, 2012, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• Cost: $140 if taking just this one, $130 if also taking class above ($10 more if not GVR member).
