Entry Form and Requirements
The Eighth Annual Briggs Abstract Art Competition of 36”x 36” (image size) paintings is open only to Santa Rita Art League Members
Prizes & Honors: First Place - $500, Second Place - $300, Third Place - $200, plus three Honorable Mentions and The People’s Choice Award.
The Judges: Candice Davis & Mike Dominguez, owners of Davis – Dominguez Gallery in Tucson, will select the 24 best paintings (including the prize winners) to hang at Rogoway’s Turquoise Tortoise Gallery in Tubac. ( Dates TBA)
Submissions: Please send to - Jean Makela, 1431 S. San Luis, Green Valley, 85614 : Your Entry Form and your check, payable to SRAL for the full amount due. Be sure you sign the entry form and everything is postmarked by January 14, 2012.
Important: You will be required to sign up as monitor at CPAC while the show is hanging. A schedule will be circulated prior to the show and your assignment will be verified when you check in.
Standards and Presentation: To be eligible, all two dimensional 36”x36” abstract art forms must be original (no giclees) and conform to the guidelines as described in “ Criteria” available on the SRAL website (SRART.org). Criteria describes the type of acceptable art and how it should be prepared to hang. CPAC has restrictions on displaying materials that contain nudity, obscenity, religious symbolism and/or metaphysical symbolism. SRAL reserves the right to disqualify any entry, upon arrival, that does not meet the above requirements.
Sales: All art work must be for sale. CPAC will retain 20% of the sales and handle all of the paperwork for SRAL. Work sold can be removed at the time of sale. The price you indicate on your entry form will be the price on the art work. Any price changes for this show may be negotiated between the artist and the buyer at the time of the sale.
Artist bio or resume: All entries must be accompanied by a bio or resume, to be delivered when you bring your art work to CPAC. (Recommended:- Present pages in protective plastic sleeves.)
