Starting again in November 2011, join accomplished watercolorist Tom Allen as he leads SRAL artists outdoors for a season of painting in nature. The plein air group meets the first and third Thursdays November-April. For rides and directions meet at 9:30 at SRAL studio. Bring food and water as well as appropriate gear for plein air painting. Below is a list of sites where the group will paint during 2012:
February 16: Mission San Xavier del Bac (exit 92 from I-19). Paint "The White Dove" from the main parking lot.
March 1: Cacti on Abrego street.
March 22: Antique Farm Equipment, Saharita.
April 5: Tohono Chul Park, Tucson. An extensive botanical garden with optional lunch at the park's Tea Room.Address: 7366 N Pasco del North. From I-10, go east on Ina Road. Watch for brown signs as you approach Oracle in Tucson. Tohono Chul will be on the north side of Ina Road, about one block west of Oracle.
April 19: Arid Plant Garden on Encanto in Green Valley.
