Workshops and Events

SRAL hosts many free workshops and other educational events to help members improve their artistic skills and broaden their artistic perspectives.

Mini-Workshops

SRAL occasionally offers free opportunities to learn from expert SRAL members. No mini-workshops are scheduled for summer.

Plein Air Paint-outs

Starting again in December 2011, join accomplished watercolorist Tom Allen as he leads SRAL artists outdoors for a season of painting in nature. The plein-air group meets the first and third Thursdays of the winter months. For more information please go to the Plein Air page.

For more information, phone Tom Allen at 393-1126. Bring food and water as well as painting equipment. Beginners are welcome to check with Tom Allen for tips on appropriate gear for plein air painting.

Conversations and Movies with Ann Over

Art educator and long-time SRAL member Ann Over covers diverse art topics in movies and conversations at 9:30 a.m. on the first and last Fridays of winter months. Below is a list of topics and movies from Winter 2011. The First Friday Movies will resume in January 2012, and the Last Friday Conversations will resume in November 2011.
